ALTA Boat Rental ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are when you use our website or contact us about boat rental in Rabac, Croatia.

2. Personal Data We Collect

Our website has no user accounts, no booking forms and no online payment. We only receive personal data when you choose to contact us:

• Messages (WhatsApp, Viber, Instagram, e-mail, phone): your name and/or profile name, phone number or e-mail address, and the content of your message.
• Rental documentation: when you rent the boat, Croatian law requires us to record data needed for the rental contract and crew list (e.g. name, ID/passport data, boating licence number). This is collected in person, not through the website.
• Invoicing data required by Croatian accounting and tax regulations.

We do not process credit card data. Payment is made in person at the berth.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis (GDPR)

• Responding to your inquiry and arranging a reservation - steps prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
• Performing the boat rental service - performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
• Issuing invoices and keeping records - legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c))
• Protecting our property and safety at sea - legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f))

We do not use your data for marketing and we do not send newsletters.

4. Third-Party Services

• WhatsApp / Viber / Instagram - if you contact us through these apps, their own privacy policies also apply (Meta Platforms, Rakuten Viber).
• Google Maps - the map on our contact section loads only after you click "Show map". Until then no data is sent to Google. After clicking, Google may process your IP address and set cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
• Google Analytics - used to understand how visitors use our website, and loaded only after you give consent via the cookie banner (see our Cookie Policy). Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
• Google Fonts - our website loads fonts from Google servers, which technically transmits your IP address to Google Inc. for the purpose of delivering the font files.

These providers may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards (EU standard contractual clauses).

5. Data Retention

• Inquiries that do not lead to a rental: until the inquiry is resolved.
• Rental and invoicing documentation: as long as required by Croatian law (generally 11 years for accounting records).

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access your personal data, request correction or deletion, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Requests can be sent to rentaboatrabac@gmail.com or +385 99 296 8633.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP, azop.hr) or your local supervisory authority.

7. Data Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss or misuse. Access to rental documentation is limited to the owner of the business.
